SEL - Program Outline

Social Emotional learning, when implemented correctly, should become a way of life and form attitudes that benefit the students throughout their adult life. This learning model is most beneficial if it involves the multidisciplinary team of educators, administrators, counselors, parents and community leaders all coming together to meet one common goal. The focus of social emotional learning is:

  1. To foster positive relationships between students, teachers and other significant adults they interact with in their environment.

  2. To reduce absenteeism, bullying and emotional distress in school and school related activities.

  3. To help students grow into self assured and confident individuals.

  4. To create a positive learning environment that boosts problem solving skills and promotes independent decision.

  5. To develop a mindset that can lead to success in personal , professional and community life.
